College week is December 6-12. Are you prepared?

College Week ( OVERALL DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 1ST)

- December 6-12
- 7 oclock-hour long zooms every day
- NAACP YC can participate in any of the events

- 1. College students panel (applying and experience)
- NAACP College students ( NAACP Chester, NAACP Wilmington, any other area chapter students as well as family and friends of NAACP Members )
- Also inviting teachers and parents especially
- Press/Publicity and Community Coordination, please work on marketing strategies to gain outreach outside of our bubble

- 2. COVID adjustments
- Open to current students and admin and parents
- Health Committee will be leading this event
- Presentation on how different schools are handling COVID and School with statics with Delco
- Idea for Miriam’s mother; Dina, to also speak at the event
- Idea for students apart of the Big Picture Alliance’s film: College Bound In a Pandemic come also be included in the panel

- 3. Professors
- Education and Youth Employment (and anyone with connections) - please contact and confirm 3-5 professors to engage in panel by December 1st, send me all contact info on one doc
- Dr. Marinda hopeful to be a panelist
- What study tactics are helpful
- Branch out to different colleges in the area ( West Chester, Penn State, Swathmore, do research to find diverse array of campus professors)

- 4. Administration (applying and financial aid)
- Education and Youth Employment (and anyone with connections) - please contact and confirm 3-5 admin to engage in panel by December 1st, send me all contact info on one doc
- Includes Counselors, reach out to counselors that believe to really know college information
- Students can also come and talk about Financial Aid

- 5. Prospective students meet & greet
- Press/Publicity and Community Coordination, please work on marketing strategies to gain outreach outside of our bubble
- Middle school and High School Students target audience

- 6. Students and admin and parents (financial aid and scholarships)
- Education & Finance & Youth Employment committees (Share a google doc with minority based scholarships and resources by December 1st)
- Open to Parents and students

- 7. College Trivia (with prize winners) and NAACP on resumes
- Entertainment please make trivia and have it ready and shared with me by December 1st
- How very important it is and beneficial it is as well to have it on your resume.
